It’s Time to Play Happy Families
Virtual Families is a simulation game that focuses on creating a family. On the face of things, this might seem to gamers like a concept they have encountered many times before. Read on to discover if Virtual Families offers anything different, or if it is simply another take on an old theme.
At first glance, Virtual Families looks like a really cool game that presets lots of new features and hours of game playing fun. Players have the chance to adopt a character and guide them through a large number of realistic situations that help them to grow and develop. Everything from finding the perfect partner through a dating site to establishing a home and starting a family are covered in a lot of detail that could and should be a lot of fun to play out as the game progresses.
The main problem that gamers are faced with is that the game is not polished and it feels as though it was released in a hurry. Actually trying to use all the cool features can be rather frustrating, and players often feel as though they are going around in circles trying to achieve things that are not really possible as yet. The game promises a lot, but simply fails to deliver when it comes right down to playing the game.
At first, having events play out in real time can seem very cool and add a sense of realism to the game. However, it quickly becomes obvious that there is a major downside to this feature. Players often have to wait for long periods of time for their characters to complete mundane tasks such as eating and washing the dishes, which can make the game feel rather dull.
Virtual Families has managed to take a familiar gaming concept and offer something a bit different, which is no easy task. However, one of the main problems with Virtual Families is that it doesn’t feel as though the game has been finished. While there are lots of new things for gamers to do here and the game is definitely ambitious, Virtual Families needs polishing and gamers might want to wait until it has been updated before they give it a go.
